Project Overview

Without an online presence or cohesive branding, Sean Ellison was finding it difficult to attract new customers to Remote Slashing Services. He was struggling to explain the unique value of his services over the phone, often losing valuable time and potential clients in the process. His business needed a professional website to establish credibility, generate leads, and streamline his sales process.

Key Problems Identified

  1. Overwhelmed by Inefficient Sales Conversations: Sean spent hours educating leads over the phone, often failing to communicate the unique value of his services.

  2. Unrealised Potential for Growth: Sean viewed the website as a way to simplify his sales process but hadn’t anticipated its full potential for increasing traffic, conversions, and brand authority.

  3. Lack of Online Presence and Branding: With no website or cohesive brand identity, Sean relied entirely on word-of-mouth referrals, limiting his reach.

  4. Limited Time and Technical Expertise: Sean lacked the time and technical knowledge to build or manage a complex website, needing a user-friendly solution.

Project Goals

  1. Attract More Leads: Sean wanted to move beyond word-of-mouth referrals and generate new leads through an online presence.

  2. Streamline the Sales Process: Simplify how Sean explained his services, which were often misunderstood during time-consuming phone calls with unqualified leads.

  3. Establish a Professional Brand Image: Create a logo and cohesive branding to elevate Remote Slashing Services’ credibility and professionalism.

  4. Build an Online Presence: Develop a website to make the business visible on search engines and attract leads.

What We Did

Phase 1: Strategy & Content

  1. Kick-Off and Collaboration

    • Created a dedicated client portal in Notion to manage tasks and resources collaboratively.

    • Held discovery sessions to define the website’s structure, colour scheme, fonts, and key messaging.

  2. Planning and Content Development

    • Built a detailed sitemap and drafted all website content based on Sean’s story and target audience insights.

    • Helped Sean articulate the distinctions between:

      • Outcomes: The results clients could expect.

      • Features: The specific qualities of the service.

      • Unique Selling Proposition (USP): What made his service different.

Phase 2: Design & Build

  1. Media Organisation and Storytelling

    • Analysed and optimised Sean’s photos and videos, using them strategically to tell a compelling story.

    • Designed the site to visually engage potential leads and explain complex offerings clearly.

  2. Building the Website

    • Used Framer to create a sleek, professional website with engaging interactions and an intuitive user experience.

    • Proposed a future lead scheduling system (e.g., Calendly) to automate bookings, pending Sean’s approval.

  3. Video Splash

    • Filmed and edited a splash video to visually demonstrate the capabilities of his mower when people first land on the site.

  4. Logo Design

    • Designed a professional logo for Sean, which he has since used for his email signature, business cards, and branded shirts, strengthening his brand image.

Phase 3: QA & Launch

  1. Testing and Feedback

    • Conducted comprehensive testing across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices, ensuring flawless performance.

    • Incorporated Sean’s feedback through the Notion portal, refining the site to meet his needs.

  2. Launch and SEO Optimisation

    • Launched the site using Cloudflare DNS and performed a post-launch SEO audit to optimise search engine performance.

Results and Feedback

Immediate Results

  • First Lead in 12 Hours: Within 12 hours of launch, Sean’s website ranked on Google for “steep mowing” on the Mornington Peninsula and generated its first inquiry.

  • 13 Leads in One Month: The site generated 13 qualified leads in the first month, most of which converted into jobs.

Client Feedback

Sean shared his excitement:

“The website paid itself off within 12 hours of launch. I’m now easily found on Google, and the calls just keep rolling in. I’ve had to buy a second phone.”

Final Remarks

This project was both rewarding and fulfilling. Helping Sean achieve measurable results and seeing his success just hours after launch reminded me of the impact a well-executed website can have.
